Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering submitting your work to the Annals of surgical case reports and images. To ensure the smooth processing of your submission, please follow the guidelines below:

Regular Articles:

  1. Manuscript Preparation:

    Manuscript Types: Specify the types of articles accepted, such as original research, case reports, review articles, editorials, or letters to the editor.

  2. Title Page:
    • Include the title of the manuscript.
    • List all authors' names and affiliations.
    • Provide corresponding author contact information.
  3. Abstract:

    The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, briefly present the topic, state the scope of the experiments, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions. The abstract should be 100 to 200 words in length.

  4. Keywords:

    Provide a list of keywords (about 3 to 10 key words) relevant to the manuscript.

  5. Introduction:
    • Describe the purpose and objectives of the study.
    • State the research question or hypothesis.
  6. Methods:
    • Detail the study design, data collection methods, and statistical analyses.
    • previously published procedures should be cited, and important modifications of published procedures should be mentioned briefly.
  7. Results:
    • Present the findings of the study in a clear and organized manner.
    • Use tables, figures, and graphs to illustrate key points.
  8. Case Presentation:

    Describe the case comprehensively, including patient demographics, clinical history, physical examination findings, laboratory results, imaging studies, and any other relevant information.

  9. Case Reports:

    The journal publishes well-documented and thoroughly analyzed case reports that showcase unusual or rare medical conditions, atypical presentations of common diseases, and instances where innovative diagnostic or therapeutic approaches were employed. These case reports provide detailed information about the patient's clinical history, examination findings, diagnostic workup, treatment, and outcome.

  10. Medical Images:

    The journal features medical images that are visually striking and diagnostically informative. These images may include radiographs, computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, histopathological images, and other diagnostic imaging modalities. Medical images are often accompanied by explanatory text to aid in understanding the significance of the visual findings.

  11. Review Articles:

    In addition to case reports, the Annals of surgical case reports and images occasionally publishes review articles that provide an overview of specific medical conditions, diagnostic approaches, or treatment modalities related to the field of radiology and medical imaging.

  12. Editorials and Commentaries:

    The journal may include editorials and commentaries written by experts in the field, addressing relevant and timely topics, discussing recent advancements, or offering perspectives on current issues in medical imaging and case reporting.

  13. Images:

    Provide images at the end of the manuscript or attach them separately in word file or image format. JPEG, JPG, PNG, TIFF images of high resolution are accepted. High resolution images helps in building attractive PDF. Figures legend is must for all figures.

  14. Tables:

    Provide tables along with the legends at the end of the manuscript. If there are more than 4 tables, better provide them in new word or excel file. Tables should be consecutively numbered according to the order they appear in the manuscript. Table legends are must for all the tables. There is no limit to the number of tables.

  15. Discussion:
    • Interpret the study results and discuss their implications.
    • Compare findings with existing literature.
    • Address limitations and potential sources of bias.
  16. Conclusion:

    Summarize the main findings and their significance.

  17. References:

    References should be listed at the end of the paper in alphabetical order.

    Example: Adjei P, Baah-Boateng W. Determinants of education-job vertical mismatch in urban Ghana. International Journal of Education Economics and Development. 2023;14(1):56-69

    Note: Please list the first five authors and then add "et al." if there are additional authors

    Ethics and Patient Consent:

    Ensure that you have obtained written informed consent from the patient (or their guardian) for the publication of any identifiable information, images, or case details.

    Clearly state in the manuscript that informed consent has been obtained.

The Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc should be brief.
